The Porter County Substance Abuse Council’s mission is to reduce youth and adult substance abuse by assessing for, promoting through, and educating about effective community-based programs.
The Council provides funding, via grants, to organizations/agencies in the county. The Council is comprised of over 212 coalition members. Each active member and the agency they represent may be eligible for grant dollars. See Membership Commitment for additional information about eligibility.
Grant applications must be for programs, services and strategies provided to Porter County residents only.
Proposed projects must fall into one of these three categories:
Each proposal must address one of the Council’s Problem Statements and one of that statement’s Objectives. Review the Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) document included in your grant packet. This plan outlines the direction we are moving as a county to address substance use disorders. The CCP was developed in collaboration with local agencies that submitted data and statistics to analyze and compile the problem statements and objectives.
